Since part of my job is Director of Drama at a college prep school, I can't say my career path is a complete alternative to theatre, but I am also a full-time English teacher at the school. But I learned more about dissecting any text, be it literature or drama, from my core BA classes than any others.

Likewise, I am producing and directing independent films, and I credit my BA classes more for what I learned about storytelling, in any medium, than the film classes I took during the 2 years I left the BA program to be a C&P major. It's kind of ironic that leaving the film program and returning to my BA degree ultimately made me a much better filmmaker.
